Foot Flush for hands free flushing
Here’s another invention that has me hitting my head and thinking Why didn’t I think of that? A toilet gadget for germaphobes called the Foot Flush. I’m not a germaphobe but when in public I always flush with my foot and I’ve taught my kids to do the same. The thought of someone flushing with their poopy hand sends shivers down my spine. Even though I wash my hands after I go potty (can you tell I have small kids at home) the thought of touching poop germs grosses me out! Turns out that more than 40% of Americans flush with their feet in public restrooms.
I was a bit curious when I was offered the Foot Flush for review. I was trying to picture a contraption that I would carry around for public restroom use and how in the world I would hook it up. When it arrived it was quite obvious that it was much too large to carry around and impossible to hook up to a public restroom. That’s a good thing because I can’t imagine carrying it in my purse when my foot already goes everywhere I go.
The Foot Flush is for home use and is a great gadget for your inner germ freak. It’s easy to install. The pedal sits on the floor and a tube threads up the back of the toilet and clamps onto the flusher chain in the tank. It took a couple of flushes to get it clamped at the right level so that the toilet wouldn’t run. We have used it for a couple of months now and it has consistently flushed. It took some time for me to get out of the habit of using the toilet handle. My kids think it’s cool and it has helped cure them of their not flushing issue. The Foot Flush is $29.95. I have four bathrooms and quite honestly I can’t see myself spending $120 on Foot Flushes just to avoid germs. My family’s potty germs don’t gross me out enough to spend that kind of cash. One Foot Flush in the main bathroom of the house is good enough for me. Who I can see benefiting from the Foot Flush the most is the elderly or people with limited mobility. It would also be a fun gadget for your potty training preschooler.

Best Buy’s Apple iPod Nano and Chocolate Gift Set
Filed Under Uncategorized | 5 Comments
I was just sent an 4GB Apple iPod Nano and Chocolate Gift Set for review. Can I tell you how excited I was? An iPod and chocolate! I was like a little girl at Christmas opening her most wanted gift. I didn’t already own an iPod. Yes, I know it’s hard to believe but I’m a little behind in the electronic gadget department. I don’t even know how to work my VCR and got my first debit card just a few weeks ago.
The iPod Nano came packaged in a mod polka-dot-patterned box inspired by the prism of iPod nano colors. It comes in pink or silver. I’m a die hard pink fan so I was thrilled that mine was pink. The iPod Nano has a very sexy design and is small enough to fit in my pocket, purse, or palm. I tucked it in my pocket and jammed to 80’s music while doing my chores. I had no idea that listening to music would make mundane chores more fun. My house is the cleanest it’s been in a long time!
Setting it up was super easy. Let me remind you that I can’t even work a VCR. I plugged the USB cable into my computer, entered some information and was good to go within minutes. The iPod Nano itself is also easy to use. The feature I like most is that I can put photos of my kids on it. Much more stylish than a big brag book of photos. A couple clicks and I have a cool slideshow to show family and friends.
At the bottom of the gift box is a lovely surprise of pink-foiled chocolate meltaways. The gift box also includes a gift card. The Apple iPod Nano and Chocolate Gift Set are a delightful gift for the women in your life. The price is $214.99 and will be available in Best Buy stores beginning May 6,2007. You can find more information here. I’m off to eat chocolate and listen to music.
