The Succulent Wife certainly lives up to its name. They offer so many fun and unique products but our favorite is their sexy retro aprons. They are the June Cleaver meets Pamela Anderson kind of apron. Many of them are one-of-a-kind pieces made of vintage fabrics and embellishments. Spice up your next meal and your marriage by cooking dinner in one of these aprons (and nothing else).

We love the old fashion styles and trends for kids that can be found at Bebe Babble. They carry the most adorable pinafore and we think the Esther Coat is to die for. You will also find a great selection of unique toys, clothes, and accessories. Bebe Babble is currently running a sale on their Ismodern and Kico clothing.

We are suckers for all things personalized or monogrammed so no surprise that we fell in love with this personalized flower dress. An exquisitely detailed dress of garden flowers and the child’s name on the chest. It is available in short or long sleeves. The best part is it will be beautifully gift wrapped and tied up with a thick grosgrain bow. This dress can be found at Posh Tots for $48.

It’s no secret that the Lipstick to Crayons sisters love them some chocolate. And the darker, the better! Ferrero Rocher has always been a favorite of ours but now there is something for all us dark chocolate lovers. Ferrero Rondnoir is a unique combination of a dark chocolate cream surrounding a “black pearl” of fine dark chocolate within a delicate, crisp wafer and topped with crunchy dark chocolate morsels. A dark chocolate lovers dream. Need we say more?

When I heard that Parent Bloggers Network was offering Jump Start World Kindergarten for review I jumped at the chance. (I know, failed attempt to be funny.)

We already own a previous version of Jump Start which is one of my kids favorite computer games to play so I knew this newest version would probably go over well with them. I was not disappointed. Jump Start World Kindergarten rocks!

My son who just turned six has auditory processing issues so getting him to play learning games is not easy. Usually I have to play with him so he doesn’t end up frustrated and defeated. I expected to have to assist him with this game but that turned out to not be the case. He was able to navigate the game with very little assistance from me and his frustration was kept at a minimum with all the encouraging messages. I was able to find out what areas he was struggling with on his progress report in the parents area so I was able to assist him in those areas.

The graphics have greatly improved from earlier Jump Start versions. My son also liked the 3-D graphics because they are similar to other video games he likes to play. The look and feel of the graphics are more like a video game rather than what you would expect from a learning game. My son finds it so much fun to play that I don’t think he realizes that he’s also learning. We’ve even had to set limits on how long he can play the game because he will play it for hours. I have a daughter in second grade who also enjoys it so I’ve purchased the 2nd grade version for her.

There are so many things that I love about this game. I love that it will grow with my son because I can download new Adventure Packs as his skills advance. I love that it helps build his confidence and self esteem with rewards and badges. I love that the game teaches in all educational areas including social skills such as friendship and teamwork. What I think is really cool is how the game uses a real time calendar so the virtual world changes with the seasons. Each time my son played the game I noticed something new such as a happy birthday wish or a job well done message on billboards in the virtual world.

If this game is not on your holiday gift list then it should be. It’s a great inexpensive gift at $19.95 and the recipient’s parents will thank you. A free trial can be downloaded from the Knowledge Adventure store and you can also view a trailer for Jump Start World here.

I’m one of those rare women who isn’t into shoes. Sure I like a nice pair of shoes but I’m not willing to spend a lot on a pair of designer shoes when I can get the knock off at Target. What I am a sucker for is cute shoes for my kids. Yes, I’m the mother who HAD to have the $60 Italian shoes from Nordstroms for her two year old son to wear on Easter. My husband nearly had a heart attack and then another when our son ended up only wearing them once. That really should have been one of those purchases that I hid from dear hubby and listed it as “groceries” in the checkbook. Live and learn.

Being the toddler shoe connoisseur that I am I can totally relate to the Teeny Manolo blog. It’s a new blog celebrating the joys of parenting and childhood. They are currently hosting a great sweepstakes. Two winners will receive $50 Amazon Gift Certificates and a grand prize of $150. The contest begins on November 23 and ends at 12AM Pacific Time on December 7, 2007. Entering is simple and free! Click here for more information.

According to the latest research, 30% of holiday shoppers will be in front of their computer online shopping this black Friday. Ridiculous crowds, high gas prices as well as the vast array of fab online deals are keeping more shoppers home. I certainly cannot blame them- I plan to spend Friday in my pj’s, drinking strong coffee (and perhaps nibbling on some dark chocolate) and sitting in front of my computer screen searching for those great deals. Where to find these fabulous finds? Go to http://www.black-friday.net/ to see a listing of online specials. I saw lots of free shipping offers from some of the big name retailers. Speaking of free shipping, Avannabel Baby will be offering free shipping AND almost every item in their store will be on sale! This offer is only good this Friday until midnight. This is a great time to find that perfect holiday outfit such as this one. Coordinating red longall (or santa suit for baby) for brother is also available. Happy Shopping!

I Love You More by Laura Duksta (author) and Karen Keesler (illustrator) is a flip sided book….like love it never ends. One side is about a mother’s love for her child then flip it over for a story about a child’s love for his mother.

My children and I love this book. My oldest three love it because they have been playing the “I love you more” game with me since they could talk so they could really relate to the concept. My toddler brings me this book several times a day to read it to her. Her favorite part is when I flip it over as if it’s a whole new book.

I Love You More is a beautiful story with beautiful illustrations. It will not only appeal to youngsters but also to adults who believe in the power of love. Makes a great gift for anyone who is the object of your affection whether they are young or old and everyone in between.

I love this book so much that I’m giving away three copies. Just leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway. A winner will be randomly chosen on Monday, November 26 at midnight.

Winter’s cool dry air will be moving in soon which wreaks havoc on my already dry skin. But I’ve gotten a head start on treating my dry skin woes. I’ve been using Gloves In A Bottle for two months and I’m so pleased with the results that I want to share them with you.

I’m a victim of alligator skin on my legs, cracked heels, and flaky skin on my hands so I have a hard time finding products that heal and protect my skin but I’ll refrain from posting photos. It isn’t pretty.

Gloves In A Bottle has worked wonders for my skin. I rub it on my feet every night and within a week my feet were softer and the cracks were diminished. It also keeps the dry skin on my legs and hands in check.

Unlike artificial moisturizers, Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion that bonds with the outermost layer of skin cells to turn it into what works like an invisible pair of gloves.

These “invisible gloves” prevent dry skin by helping to keep moisture-robbing irritants out while better retaining your skin’s own natural moisture, resulting in skin that is far better hydrated, over the long term, than what can ever be achieved by conventional lotions.

My new and improved skin is proof that this lotion does what it promises. It is a must for people with eczema, skin allergies, contact dermatitis, swimmers, and anyone with dry skin.

Did you know the average household contains over 25 gallons of hazardous chemicals? Most are found in regular cleaning products. I found this startling statistic on the Sage Baby website- a one stop online store for eco-friendly products. Some may say “going green” is just the trendy thing to do these days. But after reading the many interesting facts on their site, my interest and concern was definitely piqued.

They offer a “green guide at a glance” in their sidebar- full of interesting articles. Besides all the useful information I found, you can browse all their great product offerings. You can find all organic clothing for mom and baby, organic bedding, skincare, and cleaning products. Everything the environmentally conscious mom needs for her home. I always thought organic clothing was a luxury until I read this fact: “To make a conventional cotton t-shirt requires one fourth of a pound of harmful chemicals”I read further and was completely enlightened by the two founding mother’s about me page:

While many of our peers diligently serve organic milk and food to their children so that they are not exposed to numerous toxins and chemicals, they then turn around and unknowingly expose their children regularly to a variety of other toxic chemicals in their households. They slather their newborns with lotions full of preservatives (remember that the skin is the body’s largest organ); they buy toys made of harmful finishes that their babies bite incessantly; they clean their rooms with cleaners that are very toxic; and decorate their bay’s room with new rugs, furniture and paint that are off-gassing (the EPA has stated its concerns that indoor air is, on average, 5 times more polluted than outdoor air). We have searched the world to identify the very finest and stylish– organic and non-toxic products. sage baby offers organic cotton clothing, bedding and towels; organic skincare; non-toxic toys; non-toxic cleaning products and air purifiers. Our web site also presents useful information as to why parents should select these healthier alternatives to the usual suspects!”

Guilty! We are meticulous about serving our children only organic dairy products, yet not careful in selecting other things. After visiting this very useful site, I will look more carefully at the products I expose my children to. In the meantime, I plan to buy some of their household cleaners. Visit Sage Baby for more information or to purchase any of these products.

While searching for today’s thrifty tuesday steal and deal, I was dismayed at how incredibly hard it is to find great bargains via baby boutiques. I also realized how frustrating it is to find a great deal and then find the item is completely out of stock. I went to my own baby boutique web site to make sure I did not have any out of stock clearance items. How frustrating for the consumer! Sadly, I saw this problem on many web sites, not just a few. So today’s deal is my old friend and standy- Gymboree. Currently they are offering an additional 20% off slect sale items. I fell in love with this coat. Quite a steal for only $19.00 (more than 60% off)! They also have tights and other basics on sale including hair bows- buy one, get one for 50% off. I confess- my post is rather late today because while searching for this fab deal, I decided to do a little shopping myself. Trust me- Gymboree has some really cute sale items that are current season. Don’t you hate searching sale pages only to discover the sale items are past season or the ugly stuff that just won’t sell? I am certain you will find something to your liking at Gymboree.

P.S. Have you found a great deal at an online store or do you own a boutique and have a item more than 50% off? Please feel free to pass it on to us to include in one of our Thrifty Tuesday posts.
