Fab Finds Friday
We have several great sites to share with you!
Are you a woman who decided to forgo a high-powered career or intense education(at least for a while) to raise your children instead of placing them in daycare? Do you feel out of touch with mothers who still subscribe to either set of more traditional views – Feminist or housewife? Get connected and make new friends at Feminist Housewives. A site and community created by Erin Crain, a very smart and articulate young woman. Erin offers a great resource and community for feminists struggling to make sense of domestic life.
A Wild Ride is another great resource for moms in particular those raising challenging children. The authors of the site have very impressive backgrounds in education, nursing, and child psychology and development. A Wild Ride offers support, strategies, and resources for parents dealing with issues you won’t find in parenting magazines.
Currently A Wild Ride is hosting a writing contest on their blog to celebrate their first birthday. The theme is “What to expect when parenting isn’t what you expected” and the deadline is January 15.
Discovery Education is another great resource for parents and educators. School resources offers clipart, free teaching resources, and personalized classroom materials. Check out their Puzzlemaker generator that is a must for any crossword puzzle lover.
