There are only two animated kid shows I actually enjoy watching and one of them is Charlie and Lola. I love how well the show captures the wonder and imagination of kids. Their accents are darling and Charlie’s love for his sister, Lola is so endearing. And if your kids have been requesting pink milk you can thank this show for making it so popular.
Candlewick’s newest Charlie and Lola pop-up book
is based on Charlie and Lola’s “I Am Not Sleepy and I Will Not Go to Bed” episode. Lola does not want to go to bed and has many imaginative excuses of why while Charlie patiently tries to convince her otherwise. Each page is filled with the familiar artwork from the show and lots of pop-up surprises and pull tabs that bring the pages to life. Bedtime balkers will laugh at Lola’s antics — while grown-ups offer a silent cheer for her savvy brother.
Charlie and Lola’s I Am Not Sleepy and I Will Not Go to Bed Pop-Up book will not be released until October 28, 2008 but it can be pre-ordered. This is definitely one book that should be on your holiday gift giving list this year.
