Finally! Plus size clothes for girls

I’m a mom to a beautiful tween who doesn’t fit into the unrealistic clothing sizes of Abercrombie & Fitch Kids. The first time I shopped there with her was a slap in the face to her and eye opening for me.
You need to be a beanpole to fit into their clothing. I have an underweight eight year old and their clothes were snug on her! What kind of message is this giving our girls?
My daughter was devastated. She is considered fat by Abercrombie & Fitch’s standards. How sad is that?
Fortunately there are stores that accommadate plus size girls so they can still dress as trendy as their average size friends. Itchicksclothes is one of these stores, an online boutique of plus or extended size clothes for tween girls. Owned and operated by two mothers of girls who believe strongly in helping girls find their voice, and With roots datinare giving away 10% of their sales in August and September to Girls Inc., a national nonprofit youth organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
With roots dating to 1864, Girls Inc has provided vital educational programs to millions of American girls, particularly those in high-risk, underserved areas. Today, innovative programs help girls confront subtle societal messages about their value and potential, and prepare them to lead successful, independent, and fulfilling lives. More information can be found at www.girlsinc.org.
Itchickclothes.com is launching a photo essay contest for young girls in America, asking them to submit photos of what it means to be a Tween Girl in America right now. They believe that girls in America cannot be labeled or pigeonholed. They’re not just athletes, just pretty, just smart, or just students. They are a tapestry, and these girls are the best people to tell us who they are. Thye’re giving away a Wii Fit game to the winner. In addition, they will post the top five entries and the accompanying text on their site at www.itchickclothes.com.

I think this is great. We will have to check out the giveaway. My oldest is not big but she has a large frame and has a solid, athletic build. We have struggled for years to find clothes to fit her properly, especially pants.
We will have to check out the giveaway.
