(writes under the alias, Lilith Silvermane) grew up in Arlington, Texas. She moved to Colorado in 1990, and then back again in 2000. She has six children that range between 16 years old to 5 months old. Five girls and one boy keep her life constantly busy, and just noisy enough to let her know they are not getting into trouble. Being a single mom she has her hands full and her one relaxation is visiting blogs from all around the blogosphere. She works outside of the home for the school district. This way her schedule is flexible enough to get to the kids if needed, but she can work for a bit of sanity, and the universal evil… Money. Suzanne had decided to start a new local and online business. After making a diaper cake for her best friends baby shower in April, she fell in love with the concept of making gifts that help people smile. Cotton Cakes will primarily be made with disposable diapers; however she will have a collection of cloth diaper cakes for those mothers who just need another nudge into cloth diapering. She donates cakes to a local hospital once a month to give to a needy/young mother. Having her oldest daughter at 18, she knows how hard it can be to be a young mother. She writes almost daily on her blog Crunchy Green Lovin’ Mom ~ crunchy green mom~ about everything from laundry, to diapers, to giveaways!

Wacky Wednesday- Household products

Today I thought I’d take us on a tour around the house!

What can we find that we can use in a different way? It’s all about preserving the environment, let’s do our part!

Bathroom:

Alberto V05- Protect your dog or cat’s paw pads. Rub in a little Alberto VO5 Conditioning Hairdressing before sending your pet outdoors

Clairol Herbal Essences- Wash dishes. If you run out of dishwashing soap, wash your dishes in the kitchen sink with Herbal Essences. It’s perfect for camping since it is biodegradable.

Colgate Toothpaste- Remove crayon from walls. Brush the marks with Colgate on an old toothbrush.

Conair Pro Style 1600- Remove a bumper sticker. Blow it with a Conair Pro Style 1600 set on hot for a few minutes until the adhesive softens, then peel the bumper sticker off.

Nursery:

Baby Magic Baby Powder- Repel ants. Sprinkle Baby Magic Baby Powder in cracks, along a window sill, or under doors where ants enter. Ants will not walk through baby powder.

Huggies Baby wipes- Blot up spilled coffee from a rug or carpet. Huggies Baby Wipes absorb coffee without leaving a stain.

Laundry Room:

Bounce- Repel mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

Clorox Bleach- Extend the life of freshly cut flowers. Add one-quarter teaspoon (twenty drops) of Clorox bleach to each quart of water used in your vase.

Downy Fabric Softener- Eliminate static shock on carpets. Mix one capful of Downy Fabric Softener into a spray bottle filled with water, and spray the carpets.

Kitchen:

Wish bone Thousand Island Dressing- Remove white rings and spots from wood furniture. Wipe on Wishbone Thousand Island Dressing, let stand for an hour, and wipe off.

Wesson Corn Oil- Prevent cat hairballs. Add a teaspoon of Wesson Corn Oil to one cat meal daily.

Real Lemon- Eliminate blackheads. Rub ReaLemon over blackheads before going to bed. Wait until morning to wash off the juice with cool water. Repeat for several nights until you see a big improvement in the skin.

McCormick Food Coloring- Make fried chicken golden brown. Add a few drops of yellow McCormick Food Coloring to vegetable oil before frying. The chicken will absorb the food coloring and become a golden brown.

Jif Peanut Butter- Shave. Former senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona once shaved with peanut butter while on a camping trip. (For best results, avoid shaving with Jif Extra Crunchy.)

Liquor Cabinet-

Smirnoff Vodka- Clean lipstick from clothing. Rub the stain with Smirnoff Vodka, then throw into your regular wash.

I think the last one also CAUSES the lipstick on clothing!!

I hope ya’ll enjoyed this weeks Wacky Wednesday, if you would like more Wacky Facts visit their awesome site!!
