Learning is Fun with School Zone

I admit I am a bit of a slacker mom. Flash cards? No way. Writing the alphabet, learning shapes and colors? Nope- I assume they learn all that in school. That is what preschool is for, right? So I loved receiving these great workbooks from School Zone. I can lessen my guilt a bit by giving these to my kids, right? Once I thumbed through them, I was hooked as was my new kindergartner. He eagerly worked his way through this giant workbook geared for kids 3-5. It held his interest as it also included fun games and colorful pictures and characters. He certainly did not seem to be “working” and the books kept him busy for quite awhile. Being a very active boy, I was a bit nervous about how he would adjust to school and actually “learning”.  Seeing him do these books with such interest gives me hope!

School Zone has educational workbooks for ages baby to 6th grade. Mazes, alphabet books, dot to dot, math readiness, phonics and early reading are just a few of their offerings. We reviewed The Big Alphabet Workbook. According to School Zone, “This Big Alphabet Workbook combines popular School Zone workbooks into one convenient 320 page volume. Child-friendly exercises and full-color illustrations make learning fun. Use Big Workbooks to reinforce or review grade-level skills or prepare for the upcoming school year. Contents include: Beginning Writing, Uppercase Alphabet, Lowercase Alphabet, The Trail to Zebra, Alphabet Express, Alphabet Avalanche, and ABC Dot-to-Dot.” As you can read, our jumbo workbook was chock-full of educational topics. Since being introduced to School Zone, we have actually purchased other workbooks. I feel the books are a great introduction to skills or as use in reinforcing what is being taught at school. This slacker mom is feeling a bit less guilty these days thanks to the fab books from School Zone!
