Buildabearville Giveaway
First there was Webkinz, then Club Penguin, and now Build-A-Bear has a virtual world for their plush animals. It’s called buildabearville.com and I personally like it better than the two who first paved the way for this interactive trend. My daughters agree.
Getting started is easy. Start by registering at buildabearville.com. Then you create your human character, expressing your personality by choosing skin color, hair style and fashion style – over 200,000 options! Signing up is free and there aren’t any membership fees. Unlock cool places and games by purchasing an animal at the Build-A-Bear store. Then register your furry friends at Name Me with the Key Code on your animal’s birth certificate. Once all that important stuff is done you can head over to your Cub Condo to deck out your furry friend’s room. There are plenty of games to play and places to hang out such as the Pawforming Arts Center or the Sportsplex.
Bear Bills is the official virtual currency of Build-A-Bearville and is earned by playing games and going on animal adventures with your furry friends. Use Bear Bills to buy virtual clothing and accessories for your online character and decor for your Cub Condo.
The coolest feature at Build-A-Bearville is the ability to trade with another citizen. See something another citizen has that you haven’t seen before? Ask them to trade! Same if you have something you would like to get rid of, you can try to trade it to a citizen who would enjoy it. If you want to trade an item, double-click on another character in the world and select “Ask to Trade”. The trade will be evaluated to make sure it’s fair. It may be a straight item-for-item trade or one of you may have to add Bear Bills to make it fair.
Build-A-Bearville takes online safety very seriously so only a safe menu chat is offered. This kind of chat allows communication using only pre-defined words and phrases and these words and phrases can not be changed.
Did you know that Build-A-Bear Workshop is a big supporter of Donorschoose.org which provides students in need with resources to learn and thrive? There is even a place at Build-A-Bearville in the Town Square where you can redeem a Donorschoose.org GivingCard and direct a $10 donation for a project of your choice.
I’ve had such a great time exploring Build-A-Bearville with my daughters that I’m giving away 10,000 in Bear Bills virtual currency so one lucky winner can go on a Build-A-Bearville shopping spree. In addition to this virtual gift card is $10 for you to donate to the DonorsChoose.org project of your choice. The gift card is not valid for store merchandise and can only be used at buildabearville.com.
