Poingo: Children’s interactive storybook

Poingo is the latest interactive book for children ages 3-7. The interactive part consists of a infrared scanner that resembles a pen that reads mincroscopic symbols throughout the books. The symbols trigger Poingo to provide words, music, or sound through the onboard speaker.
We have the starter set which includes Poingo and two books featuring Cars and Finding Nemo. My almost three year old is obsessed with Finding Nemo so she declared Poingo all hers even before the box was opened. Other stories such as the Lion King or Cinderella are already loaded into Poingo’s memory so all you have to do is buy the books. Hannah Montana and High School Musical books are due to be released soon.
Adding more Poingo books in the future is easy. Simply purchase the Poingo-enabled books and then download the interactive content for these books using the free Content Manager on the Poingo web site and the included USB cable.
Poingo is very easy to use. Just turn Poingo on then touch the start button and title to get Poingo reading. I liked that Poingo reads each page without the child having to point to each word which cut down on the frustration my toddler had with other interactive books. This little feature is also what makes Poingo a slacker mom’s best friend but don’t tell anyone I told you that.
My first grader is a very new reader and has gained confidence in his reading skills by reading along with Poingo. Even my eight year old loves Poingo. She loves the interactive games and activities included in the books although some of the questions can be difficult for the younger set.
Overall my kids give Poingo two thumbs up and has earned the Lipstick to Crayons approval for your holiday shopping list.
