2008 Christmas Tour of Homes
BooMama is hosting a 2008 Christmas Tour of Homes which is basically a bunch of blogs posting photos of their holiday decorations. I spent and hour this morning checking out the blogs and there are some really great decorations and some recipes.
Here is my contribution:
The great room mantle
You can’t tell in the photo but the tree is seriously leaning to one side. My husband assures me that it will not fall. Let’s hope he knows what he’s talking about.
The front porch
I made this wreath several years ago and have been pleasantly surprised that hot glue holds up this well.
The train under the tree. This is another decoration that has managed to last through the years. This train and the Elf on the Shelf are my kids favorite Christmas decorations.
Thanks to some warm weather around Thanksgiving my husband was able to decorate the outside of our house with lots of lights and sparkle. We actually have cars drive by to see our display. I will attempt to take a photo or video of our light display tonight and post it here.
Here’s an easy olive dip recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup chopped green olives with pimentos
1 cup Hellman’s real mayo (Don’t go light, tastes better with the real stuff)
1-8 oz soften cream cheese
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tbs milk
Directions:
Combine all ingredients then chill for one hour. Serve with Wheatables Multigrain crackers.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
