I consistently find myself talking to people about following their dreams. I have this habit of expecting the best out of everyone. Seeing the people they could really be. This has been beneficial in helping others but has backfired on me as well.

(some people have no intention of changing)

I often hear mothers talking about “going back to school.” From the way it sounds many find that it is an out of reach dream. When I started college I was three months pregnant and eighteen years old. I had no doubts about finishing. Three years later I am in my junior year at a major university and making plans for grad school. I believe that anyone can achieve any goal as long as they have the confidence to do so.

As women we tend to push ourselves to the back burner. Everything comes before us. The kids, husband, work, dishes, cooking, cleaning. All of the little things come before our happiness. I think that by stepping back and looking at our goals. By seeing what we want to achieve in our lives and believing we can do it we can achieve anything.

I am starting this column to inspire you. Whatever dreams you have pushed aside. Whatever ambitions got lost in the haze of motherhood. They are coming back.

Get ready.
