I'm Michelle Cox -- the owner of Lipstick to Crayons. I’m also a Mom to three kids (a teen, tween and toddler), a professional writer (www.michellemcox.com) and a blogger (www.fromthemom.com). And I love to save money (and help you do the same) via frugal deals and steals, coupons and other thrifty practices. My freelance writing business allows me to enjoy the great balance of being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, while also making time for blogging, running (ran the Chicago Marathon twice) some amateur photography and scrapbooking. I’m a St. Louis native, although I have lived outside of the city and the state. A few of my passions are amateur photography, scrapbooking and attending kids' sporting events.

Sold Fast!

Yes, you read right – even in this economy, Lipstick to Crayons Sold FAST! After all, it is one of the “coolest sites for Moms on the Web,” says new owner Michelle Cox.

As regular readers know, Lipstick to Crayons was founded by Kristie and Jennifer, two hip and stylish sisters who have six kids between them. These women wanted to help other women remain hip and stylish while also juggling the many balls that all Moms must keep in the air. And Lipstick to Crayons became the perfect outlet to do just that. But true to their natures, Kristie and Jennifer couldn’t quell their entrepreneurial spirits. As we all know, time is a limited resource, and their other endeavors prompted the sale of this site.

That’s where I come in. I’m Michelle Cox – a Mom to three and a professional writer and blogger. I’ve been a fan of this site from its inception, so when the opportunity presented itself for me to take over this totally happening spot on the World Wide Web, I jumped at it. What Mom/writer/blogger/shopper/fashionista (a girl can dream, okay?) in her right mind wouldn’t?

I’m very excited to be the new owner of Lipstick to Crayons. Although it makes me sound old, I’ll admit to having 20 years of writing experience in a multitude of arenas. I got my start as a newspaper reporter, have done my bit as a public relations professional, and currently bring home my part of the bacon as a freelance writer, serving clients in retail, financial services, entertainment, healthcare, education and non-profits. I’m a wife and Mom to a teen, tween and toddler.

I’ve been blogging for several years and I’m confident that I can nurture Lipstick to Crayons in the manner to which it has become accustomed.

If you’re a regular reader, rest assured that the things you love about this site aren’t going to change. I’ll continue to offer fun contests and giveaways, helpful product reviews, fabulous finds and informative articles to assist Moms in doing the best job they can at the best job of all time.

But I’m also planning to add some content by harnessing the incredible talents of other amazing writers who also are hip and stylish chicks. Among other things, look for Lipstick to Crayons to soon include:

  • Reviews of Christian music and products produced and sold by Christian-owned companies
  • Additional articles on fitness, health and weight loss (a lifelong hobby of mine)
  • Increased focus on topics and products of interest to teens (music, clothes, gadgets, technology and shopping)
  • Family-friendly travel reviews

So, if you’re the type of person who likes to deliver a lasagna or casserole to new homeowners in your neighborhood and you’d like to do the cyber equivalent for me, then please pass the word (link) along to your friends about Lipstick to Crayons and its proud new owner! And leave a comment letting me know you did (as well as some information about yourself) so that I can get to know you.

And if you’re a public relations professional or business owner who has previously done business (or would like to do business) with Lipstick to Crayons, please know that I’m anxious to get to know you, as well. Shoot me an email at lipsticktocrayons at gmail dot com and we’ll talk.
