Bee Inspired by a Tee

feature photo

I’m not one to wear t-shirts very often. I’ll exercise in them and wear them to clean. Sometimes I’ll wear a “spirit” t-shirt to show my support for my daughter’s swim team or my son’s school. But I received the most adorable t-shirts for my daughter and I last week from Bee-Tees - Tee Shirts that Teach & Inspire.

The company sent me a “Bee Inspired” shirt to review, along with a “Bee Sweet” t-shirt for my toddler. Bee-Tees are billed as “Positive Character Wear for Children and Adults.”  They are t-shirts that provide a teachable moment between parent and child. Each one is adorned with a bumble bee image and a saying – bee unique, bee patient, bee good, bee yourself, etc.

The line encourages positive character, according to Bee-Tees founder Melissa Patton. She says the shirts give parents the opportunity to discuss character issues as they are helping their children get dressed in the morning. They also have an adorable “back your bee” logo on the back of the t-shirt, and they are made of quality cotton.

I love the positive character messages on the shirts, but I’m particularly fond of the fact that they allow my toddler and I to dress alike. I’m a sucker for the “dress alike” thing — much to the dismay of my older children and my husband. But I think it’s fun and I’m glad I’ve got a new “victim” in my toddler.  And we do look adorable together in our new Bee Tees, if I do say so myself.

Bee Tees come in sizes six months to adult XXL. Costs range from $15 to $18.  The company also sells ball caps, visors and tote bags and offers a fund-raising program for churches, schools & organizations.
