Remember When Your Clothing Budget Was for You?
I used to have all the latest styles in shoes and clothes. Don’t get me wrong — I never had unlimited resources with which to shop at Nordstrom’s. But I always felt fashionable enough with a few pieces from top designers, complimented with some brand names from Marshall’s, a Coach or Dooney purse here and there, nice shoes and boots and a closet full of knock-off accessories.
Then I had kids. And my kids got bigger and more interested in designer labels and brand names. And the dollars I had to spend keeping me fashionable were re-directed. If you’re a Mom, you know what I mean.
Whenever my teen feels the need to point out that something I’m wearing has gone out of style, I put this guilt trip at her feet and she silences herself immediately. But she’s right about my shoes — some of them are really starting to look outdated. Thankfully, Payless has a selection of fashionable and affordable styles that will have me putting my best foot forward this fall. In fact, my teen might even fight me for a few of the shoes Payless recently sent me. Check them out:
These Payless
Airwalk Kicks in black and pink Buffalo plaid are available in Payless stores and at Payless.com from August through September for $22.99. I’m not crazy about the whole Converse rage thing, but I like these.
This Airwalk Tan Furry Moscassin is also avilable in stores and online for $22.99 from now until February 2010.
I’ve already got the black leggings and long tunic picked out that will coordinate beautifully this fall with these American Eagle™ by Payless Black Bow Skimmers, which retail for $19.99 and are available at select Payless stores and online from August through October.
My daughter has the real thing — the adorable, immensly popular Uggs. I can’t bring myself to pay that much money for a pair of boots that I cannot even get wet. But I’d be willing to part with the $34.99 that these Airwalk Tan Boots at Payless cost.
