I'm Michelle Cox -- the owner of Lipstick to Crayons. I’m also a Mom to three kids (a teen, tween and toddler), a professional writer (www.michellemcox.com) and a blogger (www.fromthemom.com). My freelance writing business allows me to enjoy the great balance of being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, while also making time for blogging, running (ran the Chicago Marathon twice) some amateur photography and scrapbooking. I’m a St. Louis native, although I have lived outside of the city and the state. A few of my passions are amateur photography, scrapbooking and attending kids' sporting events.

Book Giveaway – Chicken Soup for the Dog-lover’s Soul

If you love your dog, if you  just love dogs in general, or if you have a dog-lover on your holiday gift-giving list, then you’ll LOVE the latest Chicken Soup for the Soul offering — “What I learned from the Dog.”

The book is full of heart-warming dog stories — my personal favorite being one about a young girl whose dog was her pal as she recovered from polio as a child. Each story is introduced with a quote about dogs, such as “The dog was created especially for children. He is the god of folic” by Henry Ward Beecher.

There are stories about strays, about pups and about lifelong pets. The 101 stories are broken down into sections including:  Learning about Family, Learning about Courage, Learning to Heal, and Learning to be Kinder. Some will make you laugh and others will make you cry.
