I'm Michelle Cox -- the owner of Lipstick to Crayons. I’m also a Mom to three kids (a teen, tween and toddler), a professional writer (www.michellemcox.com) and a blogger (www.fromthemom.com). My freelance writing business allows me to enjoy the great balance of being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, while also making time for blogging, running (ran the Chicago Marathon twice) some amateur photography and scrapbooking. I’m a St. Louis native, although I have lived outside of the city and the state. A few of my passions are amateur photography, scrapbooking and attending kids' sporting events.

Tiny Baby Jesus Book Giveaway – Closed

Every year, I enjoy expanding our collection of Christmas books that I read to my kids to remind them of the true meaning of Christmas (speaking of, have you read this post yet?). Our collection includes Peef the Christmas Bear, The Tale of the Three Trees and The Christmas Promise, to name a few. This year, I’m adding Tiny Baby Jesusby Dandi Daley Mackall and illustrated by Julia Noonan  to our collection.

Tiny Baby Jesus offers a fresh look at the Christmas story as it talks about Jesus in terms of his very human condition. Plus, it’s a perfect book to share with my toddler, because she loves the idea of identifying Jesus from his head to his tiny toes.

As you read this book to your children, they will discover the wonder of hands that develop into those of a carpenter and swaddled shoulders that grow to carry the weight of all mankind. Readers can share in the humble birth of tiny baby Jesus while remembering the life and teachings of the grown savior. The book’s messages are simple yet profound, and the illustrations are beautiful.

    I want to win this book because I think it’s very easy for kids (and adults too) to get swept up in the excitement of Christmas and forget about the true meaning. I think it’s also very important to remember that Jesus was fully human, just like us and I think this would help kids identify with him more.

    My big reason for wanting this book is because my daughter’s preschool will allow us to send in “holiday” books to be read to the class. I would love to share Jesus with them. Of course, it’d be a great addition to our library, too!
