I'm Michelle Cox -- the owner of Lipstick to Crayons. I’m also a Mom to three kids (a teen, tween and toddler), a professional writer (www.michellemcox.com) and a blogger (www.fromthemom.com). And I love to save money (and help you do the same) via frugal deals and steals, coupons and other thrifty practices. My freelance writing business allows me to enjoy the great balance of being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, while also making time for blogging, running (ran the Chicago Marathon twice) some amateur photography and scrapbooking. I’m a St. Louis native, although I have lived outside of the city and the state. A few of my passions are amateur photography, scrapbooking and attending kids' sporting events.

Seven Wonders?

feature photo

I LOVE this quote:

”There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.” – Walt Streightiff

I admit to stealing it from the Facebook page of StrideRite, but I had to share it. I remember some of the things that have “wondered” my older children, and marvel at some of things that “wonder” my toddler:

  • The creek bed near our first home
  • How the horse that is are pastured near our subdivision can reach through the fence and take an apple
  • Landscaping rocks
  • Warm air blowing through a floor vent
  • My makeup drawer
  • The laundry chute at my Grandmother’s home
  • Catching things at the bottom of the laundry chute at my Grandmother’s home
  • The feel of pantyhose on Gaga’s legs (since Mommy never wears them).
  • Wrinkly elbow skin
  • “Daddy’s scratchy face”

What “wonders” your kids?
