And I love to save money (and help you do the same) via frugal deals and steals, coupons and other thrifty practices. My freelance writing business allows me to enjoy the great balance of being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, while also making time for blogging, running (ran the Chicago Marathon twice) some amateur photography and scrapbooking. I’m a St. Louis native, although I have lived outside of the city and the state. A few of my passions are amateur photography, scrapbooking and attending kids' sporting events.

New Favorite Piece of Jewelry

I have a new favorite piece of jewelry — it’s my new photo charm necklace from Snapfish. I just gave away one of these necklaces to one of my readers who entered a contest hosted by Snapfish on my site, here, but now that I’ve received my own photo charm necklace, I wanted to tell you why I like it so much.

The charm is small and elegant enough (1/2-inch square) that I can wear it with my business attire as easily as I can wear it with my “Mom clothes.” I chose to make the picture in my charm black and white (which I suggest for anyone who wants a more elegant look to their photo charm), and so at first glance, the photo simply looks like a black and white design. Upon closer look, it’s obvious that it’s a picture of my three kids. How cool is that?! (Snapfish provides the tools to convert you photo to black and white when you make your necklace).

The charm is polished sterling silver and hangs on an adjustable 16- to 18-inch chain. And the best part — I can’t ruin it by leaving it on my bathroom counter where water can drip on it because it’s protected with a waterproof UV resistant finish.

This necklace sells for $39.99 at Snapfish. If you’re jealous of mine, head on over and buy one for yourself.
