What are my Fab Finds this week?

Little Windows is an awesome product where you can make your own picture jewelry. Everyone love taking photos and sharing the stories behind them. Little Windows was designed so you can show off your pictures in a gorgeous, contemporary way.

Each one holds a special memory captured in a shiny, glass-like pendant. There are no frames, just the brilliant color from your photo reflected up and around the sides. Lightweight and waterproof, these make perfect keepsakes and gifts! I can not wait to make my own necklaces. Each kit contains enough material to make three necklaces. You can keep them for yourself or give them away to your friends.
Kit retails for $48.00 dollars each.
Check back on MommyMandy for your chance to win your own Little Windows Kit.

Do you love chocolate as much as I do? Yes? Then head to Red Thread Confections. The chocolate from here is to die for. I did not want to share a single piece. My favorite by far was the raspberry filled heart one. YUM!!! Please visit the online store or click the “buy now” buttons to purchase. Boxes are available in three sizes: small ($7.95), medium ($15.75) and large ($31).
Check back on MommyMandy for your chance to win a small box of chocolates in the winner’s choice.

I recently bought a car vinyl decal from Busy Mom Creations and I love it. I just put it on my car yesterday. It was very easy to install and it looks great. Each line is $7.00, which I think is so reasonable! She does tons of custom work, so just contact her. You can find her contact info in her etsy profile.

camp-school-pack.jpgIt is that time of year…..sending the kids off to camp and mentally preparing for back to school (which will be here before you know it!). We were recently sent a fab collection of personalized labels from Mabel’s Labels. Mabel’s sticky labels are famous the world over! They withstand the dishwasher, microwave, UV Rays and hard wearing children. I enjoyed sticking them on all my kid’s important “things” and my kid’s love seeing their names on their favorite “things”. No more lost jackets and bags- we have attached our fun “Tag-Mates” to all of our important gear. I loved how easy it was to apply the labels- simply peel off the adhesive and attach.

You can find a wide variety of labels and more on their website: canister labels, labels for your spices, clothing labels, fun and creative tags for teachers, and lots more! We are excited to host a giveaway for a FREE combo camp/school pack. This pack includes 15 sticky labels, 8 shoe labels, 40 iron-on labels and 2 bag tags. Simply tell us why you should win this great giveaway in the comments section.

Deadline to enter giveaway is Saturday, July12th at 11:59 pm central time. Be sure to include a valid email address. Winner will be randomly chosen via random.org.

Winner will be notified via email and announced on this post. We’ll also be posting the winner’s name to PRIZEYWinners, so if you don’t want to leave your email address, just check there for the winner announcement after this giveaway closes.

If the winner does not claim prize by July 18th, 2008 they will forfeit their prize to alternate winner who will be drawn at random.

I often wonder what babies are thinking or what they would say if they could talk. I’m obviously not alone in my thinking because letting infants and toddlers use their clothing to convey their thoughts is all the rage nowadays. Edgy, whimsical, political- anything goes.

{ delicate tomboy } has a line of hand-dyed cotton tees and onesies (up to 18 months) that can let your rugrat make their statement. It’s hard to refuse their demands with adorable tees that read “Hug Me”, “Real Men Wear Pink”, or “Global Warming, It’s Not Cool”, just to name a few.

cant_dance_black-thumb.pngI know, you are feeling left out on the statement making tees. No worries, { delicate tomboy } has you covered. Literally. Show some attitude with their line of “never date a guy who” lessons on a hip and comfy tee.

All { delicate tomboy } garments are 100% cotton and hand-dyed for a custom, unique look. In keeping with the uniqueness { delicate tomboy } is known for, they also offer custom and personalized designs, which make perfect gifts!

Our favorite thing about { delicate tomboy } is their philanthropy. They donate all of the proceeds from the sales of their special dog graphics infant line to Pet Rescue, Inc., a nonprofit, no-kill pet shelter and rescue group based in Miami.

Whether you have a little one who has a message for the world or you want to share your dating advice, { delicate tomboy } knows how to get your message across in a hip and stylish way.

The last thing a pregnant woman wants to give up is their sense of style as the baby belly grows. As many can tell, I am a woman that loves to be an individual-not one to just go with the “typical”. Pregnancy is a time to enjoy and of course, the original clothing is something to make it fun.

Jellybean Apparel has helped keep maternity clothes fun and original. A husband and wife team based out of Royal Oak, Michigan, Nicky and Derek create unique designs not only for Mommy but the whole family. “Unique Maternity-Wear for The Entire Family” You can find some very cute and unique styles for all members of the family-including Grandma and Grandpa.

I fell in love with Jellybean Apparel from the moment I found their Etsy website and adore the designs. They truly are one of a kind and they are all guaranteed. A special note you will find throughout the website is, “Our shirts are true MATERNITY shirts, cut longer and more full in the front. Our designs are adhered using dry-ink thermal-application. They are not iron-ons, and will not crack or fade. We recommend you machine wash cold, and tumble dry on low. Each shirt is made to order.” They have of course MANY styles and design to choose from but if you have something else in mind, they are beyond willing to do a Custome design especially for you!

priceless2.jpgRight now, I have on the Priceless Design and I LOVE IT! The fabric is incredibly soft and comfortable. And just like the model here, the design falls perfectly on my “Priceless” baby bump. (Don’t worry, you’ll get to see me in my beautiful shirt as soon as I get my hair done!)

And for your chance to win your very own JellyBean Apparel design, head over to For the Love of Baby!

125x125sahm.gifMy sis and I have been selling on eBay for years. It’s one of the many projects we dabble in and we have made decent cash doing it. I started selling after cleaning out my kid’s closets. I had no idea that I had such a goldmine. I made $1500 in three weeks. Needless to say I was hooked.

Anyone can sell on eBay but not everyone is successful. Fortunately there are people like Suzanne Wells who has put together The Stay-at-Home Mom’s Guide to Successful eBay Selling.

According to Suzanne:

eBay selling is a WAH job that most anyone can do regardless of if she has another business, has a full time job, has children or not, or is in between jobs. eBay selling does not require special training, a college degree, complicated equipment, or an advertising budget. eBay can be used by most anyone to develop another income stream for the household. Moms in general love the idea because their kids are constantly outgrowing clothes and toys, and eBay gives them a way to recoup some of the expense of those items.

If you talk to an average person on the street, she has heard of eBay but may say something like, “Yeah, I have an XYZ that I should sell on eBay, but I haven’t looked into it.” They know eBay is there, they know it is a way to make money, but for some reason or another, they have not taken the plunge. I like to give people the encouragement, information, and support to at least try eBay and decide if it is for them.

Selling on eBay is no different that having a garage sale; it just takes a little research and planning. The benefits are far greater than having a garage sale:

1. Sales can happen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, rain or shine
2. Your customer base grows to 244 million rather than a few dozen
3. You can list and sell items at your own pace on your own schedule: you don’t have to drag everything out into your driveway in one day or commit to a time schedule
4. You will make more money since customers can outbid each other and your potential customer base is 244 million
5. You will reach collectors of unique items, anywhere in the world, that would not be at your garage sale

Most everyone has “stuff” in their homes that can be sold on eBay for a profit. The problem is: many people are not aware of what they can sell, what items are profitable, or they are intimidated by the eBay process in general. My eBook helps them get started. Selling on eBay is:

1. convenient
2. relatively easy
3. safe
4. inexpensive
5. flexible
6. fun!

Suzanne is offering a FREE copy of her ebook The Stay-at-Home Mom’s Guide to Successful eBay Selling to all our readers. To get yours contact Suzanne at ebaycoach@yahoo.com and let her know that you are a Lipstick to Crayons reader.

Like most busy moms, I am always looking for ways to save time (and money!) which leads me to my newest column- the 5 minute mom. I promise to bring easy crafts you can do with your kids, quick and healthy dinners, and useful tasks- all to be accomplished in less than 5 minutes. Today’s feature is a quick and easy dinner, prepared in less than 5 minutes.

Pasta with Yogurt Pesto

1 clove garlic, coarsely chopped
2 cups tightly packed fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup walnut pieces or pine nuts
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup plain low-fat yogurt (we love Trader Joe’s Greek style organic yogurt)
salt and pepper
1 lb. fusilli or other short, curly pasta

Combine garlic, basil and nuts in a bowl or food processor until finely chopped, scraping sides of bowl once or twice. With motor running, add olive oil in a slow and steady stream. Scrape mixture into a small bowl and stir in cheese and yogurt. Cover with plastic and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup cooking liquid. Drain pasta and return to pot. Toss with pesto. Add reserved cooking liquid, 1 TBSP. at a time to moisten pasta (optional). Season with salt and pepper.

Serves 4
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Cost per serving: $1.60 (!)

The pesto sauce can also be used as a dip. So while the pasta is heating, keep your little ones busy by dipping carrots in the pesto sauce. Now that dinner is done, go find some time for yourself!

I have the most amazing diaper bag ever to tell you guys about. When I saw the bags from Rowdy Products I completely fell in love! I can not even begin to tell you how many compliments I get on my diaper bag, in fact all of my friends tell me that they would buy it just for themselves as a purse and not a diaper bag.

I got the The Sophisticate Bowler in White. The bag comes with a changing pad and a bottle holder. What is great about the bottle holder is it is insulated so it keeps drinks hot or cold. I like that I can keep it right where the zipper is, so when I unzip the bag I can grad Sarah’s cup easily from the bottle holder. I also love that it has lots of little pockets and dividers. I love to keep my bag organized and this is one of the few bags that lets me do just that. Each bag also has a small clutch purse that attaches to the outside, if you don’t want to take your purse, you can store all of your stuff in it, and it is easy to detach from the diaper bag.

I just love this bag and it is a definite must have for moms!

Flip & Tumble bags

A bag that’s designed for those of us who only seem to remember our reusable bags the moment we need them. A stretchy pouch makes it a cinch to go from a full size bag to small ball in seconds flat. Stash one in your messenger bag or purse, ready to go, 24-7. This bag is called the Flip & Tumble.
How it works:

scrunch
place your hand into
the attached pouch
and scrunch the bag

I love these bags. I love how easy they are to store in my purse or diaper bag and when I go shopping I can use them. I love the cute colors they come in too. Of course the one I got is pink!

lg_ying1.jpgI received this beautiful ying bag from Nankeen for review and I’m so impressed with it’s beauty and durability that I have to give one away!

“Nankeen creates chic, fun, durable, and functional accessories for everyday style. Their designs fuse 100% cotton, indigo dye, and exquisite patterns using a traditional Chinese art form dating back to the Song dynasty. In addition Nankeen is committed to fair labor practices, environmentally friendly manufacturing, and the preservation of the art form. This historic Asian process is rapidly becoming endangered. Your support will help rescue and sustain this treasured tradition. Please pass along this treasure and share with your friends and family.”

Nankeenstyle.com offers a large selection of bags, totes, accessories, pillows and really cool accessories for men.

My ying bag is from the tote collection. I’ve always been a big lover of big bags. With four kids having a bag big enough to tote all our stuff is a must.

I took my bag with me over the holiday weekend and it was perfect for our snacks, magazines, and a few toys and my laptop fit perfectly in the padded interior sleeve. It’s the must have bag for us busy moms because the straps are sturdy enough to take a mom’s tendency to overstuff her bag and is machine washable. It’s definitely a bag I can feel good about since I’m supporting an endangered Chinese art form, the hand printed cotton will always be in style, and with it’s durability I can count on having the bag for many years.~Kristie
