In the market for a Pink Power Suit?
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
My good friend, Natasha is selling her very successful online business.
We became friends several years ago during our fourth pregnancies. I have watched her lovingly build PinkPowerSuit.com from the ground up but because of unforeseen medical issues she needs to sell. You can find out more on her Ebay listing. It is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a home business. ~Kristie

Six weeks ago we received the Venus Fly Trap from The Discovery Store for review. Basically it is a plastic motion activated toy that is supposed to mimic the real thing. Unfortunately we have yet to catch anything but pollen and dust. The premise is very cool. You set the trap, and it catches the bugs. There is a motion activated sensor that detects when a bug has entered the chamber, and snaps the mouth shut. Seems easy enough but it fails to mention that you need a plethora of flying insects in order to catch something.
Unfortunately we’ve had enough rain this spring to keep the bugs at bay. Usually we have quite a few bumble bees buzzing around our house which is what my kids were hoping to catch. How cool it would be to see a bumble bee up close!
Obviously the bees are smarter than we think and are not falling for our seductive trap. We have tried several different types of fruit, honey, and even a cookie (my two year old’s idea) as bait but we are not giving up. Before long the rain will be replaced with our typical hot, muggy days and lots of flying insects. Normally I dread the bugs but the Venus Fly Trap has me looking forward to it in hopes of finally catching something.
My son checks on our Fly Trap everyday and has become so discouraged that today my husband placed an unidentifiable flying insect that is not much bigger than a gnat inside the trap. My son was so excited about that little bug which has me more determined than ever to catch something. I’m hoping it will be something big, ugly and normally would send me running!

Things are getting bad. Real bad. I just spent $100 to fill my gas tank and I’ll have to fill up again in five days. If that isn’t bad enough my grocery bill increases $10 each week and my family isn’t eating anymore than we were a month ago. Money is tight so more than ever I have to find ways to save wherever I can. This is why I prefer to shop online. I tend to spend a lot less than if I go into the store with all the things on endcaps that I didn’t know I needed until I saw them. All too often I go to Target for a bottle of shampoo and walk out $100 poorer.
The only drawback to shopping online can be the shipping and handling charges. Many times I have deserted my online shopping cart when I saw the high shipping cost.
Recently I came across a site I must share with our spend thrifty readers. Freeshipping.org is a free shipping resource that is committed to helping shoppers save money online by listing trusted online retailers who offer free shipping coupons.
The website is easy to navigate with a huge list of free shipping offers all in one place. The most well known retailers and their logo are visible at the top of the page such as Target.com. One click on the logo takes me to a page of Target free shipping offers and codes.
I can also browse the site by store name or category. I can find a huge list of toys free shipping codes by clicking the toys category. I wasn’t even aware that so many of my favorite retailers offer free shipping.
Thanks to freeshipping.org I can save money on gas and shipping. I have the site bookmarked and I check their site first before I shop. Chances are very good that I will find the free shipping code I need.

Boboli Pizza Tailgate Buffet
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Super Bowl Sunday is almost here and if you are hosting a party you are probably thinking about what food to serve. Boboli has made it easy to entertain with the Boboli Pizza Tailgate, a buffet featuring pre-made toppings, sauces and Boboli pizza crusts. There are 32 recipes to choose from inspired by your 32 favorite football cities. One recipe that isn’t listed that I love to serve at my parties is a Boboli topped with artichoke dip. Just heat it in a 350 degree oven until hot. Cut into squares. It’s always a big hit at my parties.
You can feel good about serving these recipes because Boboli Original, Thin, or 100% Whole Wheat Pizza Crusts are cholesterol-free and trans-fat free.
To further get into the spirit of football and tailgating season, Boboli is giving away a trip for four to one of the great American football cities of the winner’s choice. The sweepstakes ends on February 17, 2008. View the full Official Rules at www.boboli.com.
Another snack you can serve and feel good about is the new Cheerios Snack Mix, a wholesome snack the entire family will enjoy. Comes in Original or Cheddar and has 60-65% less fat than regular potato chips. My family had the opportunity to try a bag and they loved it.
What is your favorite recipe to serve at parties?

Thrifty Tuesday Fabulous Find

If you are like me, you have yet to even begin holiday shopping. I have been so busy wrapping and packing up my customers orders, I have neglected my own gift list. Thankfully, the mad holiday rush is just about over! Today’s thrifty find is for all the last minute shoppers looking for a great gift at a fab price. I found great baby gifts at Tropical Baby Boutique. You can find a page of gifts all for under $20! I thought the Kammi Teething Doll was a great idea for teething babies and now on sale for only $15.99. When baby is teething, you dampen 1-4 knots of the arms and legs of the teething doll, then freeze it for 15 minutes. It’s ready for baby to chew on now! We know how babies love to chew on just about anything and this baby teething toy serves a dual purpose of being a doll they can carry around and when baby’s having tooth pain, they can chew away! Since this baby teething toy is a terrycloth doll, it also cleans easily. You can just throw it into the wash with like colored items (especially towels) and tumble dry. I can vividly remember those days of trying to pacify a irritable toddler with erupting molars….frozen pretzels, gum ointment, Tylenol, more Tylenol, prayer, etc. You name it- I tried it. If you have a cranky baby on your hands, this is a godsend!Tropical Baby Boutique has quite a few great finds to choose from- I found a brocade diaper bag for only $17.99, an adoption bracelet and nursing necklace for $19.99 and a huge selection of groovy tie dye tees/onesies all under $15. Happy Bargain Shopping!

Thrifty Tuesday Fabulous Find

I have a little secret that I should keep to myself, but it is just too good to stay quiet. As a baby boutique owner, I am always searching for unique quality products and lately I have discovered the jackpot for great baby finds. What is it? Simply……etsy.com. A website chock full of hand made products. And not what you may think. Sometimes handmade has the connotation of being well…..hand made-knitted blankets, pasted on pieces, cheap fabrics, etc. But not on Etsy! I can say that truly after having ordered several pieces from different sellers. I have found the quality to be far superior to mass produced items. So much so that I carry several Etsy designed lines in my boutique. The attention to detail and quality is exceptional. Best of all, the products are offered at great prices. If you are looking for a unique holiday gift and do not want to give something found at mass merchandise stores, look no further than Etsy. I promise you will find something great at a terrific price. Here are 2 fabulous finds: polka dot burp cloth set offered by DesignsbyNana and the baby skin product gift set is by seller Baby Breaux. I was actually sent samples from Baby Breaux and loved the products- they are all natural and yummy smelling. No chemicals! The gift set includes the following: Baby Pudding Creme, Bottom Pop Diaper Balm, Honey Lavender Lotion, Baby Frosting Soap, Tub Tart Bath Fizzies. A great gift for a new mom and only $16.50 for the set.
